Camera Disclosure
To ensure the security of our property and the safety of our guests, the following security cameras are installed on the premises:
- Front Porch Cameras:
- One camera is pointed at the two entrances.
- Another camera is pointed at the side walkway leading to the deck.
- Doorbell Camera:
- A camera is installed in the doorbell, monitoring the main entrance.
- Back Deck Cameras:
- One camera is pointed at the top of the back deck.
- Another camera is pointed under the rear deck.
- Basement Camera:
- There is one camera in the basement. However, this area is inaccessible to short-term renters.
Privacy and Legal Compliance
- Notification: All cameras are installed in common areas and are clearly visible. There are no cameras in private areas such as bedrooms or bathrooms, ensuring your privacy during your stay.
- Purpose: The cameras are used solely for security purposes, to monitor the entrances and common outdoor areas of the property.
- No Audio Recording: Our cameras do not record audio to comply with New York’s wiretapping laws.
- Access to Footage: Security footage is only accessed by the property owner for security and safety purposes and is not shared with third parties unless required by law.

Welcome to our historic home built in the 1890s, located next to the beautiful woods of Corning, NY. While you are just a 10-minute walk from the city, you’re also right next to a woodland area. While we strive to provide a safe and enjoyable stay, please be aware of the following important information:
- Wildlife: Due to our proximity to the woods, guests may encounter various wildlife, including but not limited to bugs, snakes, bears, deer, and other animals native to the Corning, NY area.
- Safety Precautions:
- Bugs: Please use insect repellent and keep windows and doors closed to minimize contact with bugs.
- Snakes: Stay on marked paths and be cautious when walking in grassy or wooded areas.
- Bears: Avoid leaving food outside and secure all trash in designated containers. Do not approach or feed wildlife.
- Deer and Other Animals: Exercise caution when driving in the area, especially at dawn and dusk when animals are most active.
- Liability: The property owner is not responsible for any injuries, damages, or losses caused by wildlife or the natural environment. Guests are advised to take appropriate precautions and remain vigilant while enjoying the surroundings.
- Historic Home: Please note that the house was built in the 1890s and, while maintained to ensure your comfort, may have certain inherent characteristics and limitations typical of older homes.
House Rules
- Quiet hours are from 10 pm to 7 am. Please respect our neighbors.
- No smoking inside the house, on the outdoor deck, patio, or anywhere else around the house except at the outdoor fire pit, where cigarette butts should be disposed of safely.
- No pets allowed, only service animals, which have a fee. Only one service animal is allowed per stay. It will not be allowed on beds or furniture. Any damages incurred will be charged to the cardholder.
- No eating or drinking in the bedroom and no jumping on the bed. Don’t rearrange furniture.
- No parties and no guests allowed.
- No illegal drugs.
- Our house cleaner would appreciate it if you put the trash out and place dishes in the dishwasher.
- No jumping on the deck or sitting on top of the deck rail.
- Close the garbage at all times. Bears, deer, and other animals have been sighted in the area. Do not pet or feed them.
- Please make sure the oven, any electronics, and other house appliances such as air conditioning are off when you leave.
- Turn off the lights, close the windows, and lock the doors upon leaving.
